Our Story
Kamusta! We’re Ogi and Anya, the proud owners of Little Manila, and we’re excited to bring the flavours of Filipino cuisine to the people of Aotearoa.
Our journey began in 2008 when we moved to New Zealand, working as a Theatre Nurse and an Account Manager. As Filipino migrants ourselves, we saw the growing Filipino community in New Zealand but noticed a lack of representation in the local food scene. This sparked our passion for sharing the rich and diverse flavours of our homeland with Kiwis.
In 2018, we took a leap of faith and took over an existing traditional Filipino fast food spot at Capital Market in the heart of Wellington City. Since then, we’ve nurtured and expanded its loyal following by consistently delivering Filipino dishes.
Building on this success, we launched our first Little Manila branch in the North City food court in Porirua in 2019. We realised that Filipino cuisine was still underrepresented compared to other Asian cuisines, so we introduced a fresh approach—our Pinoy Buddha Bowls. These healthy, flavourful bowls, topped with Filipino-inspired ingredients, have been a hit with a broader customer base.
By the end of 2020, we opened our third branch at Queensgate Mall Food Court. As our journey continued, we proudly opened our latest branch at 18 Willis Street Food Court. However, our Tauranga branch has closed as we focus on growing in other areas.
We warmly invite you to Little Manila, where we share our passion for Filipino food through a delicious fusion of traditional and modern dishes. Let's eat Filipino!
Hanggang sa muli,
Ogi and Anya
